Volume 39. Prajapati Sandesh 2014. www. prajapati. org. uk |
Jai Shree Krishna to all Prajapati members.
The last 12 months have been a challenging time for the Samaj with a decline in participation in core activities. However, the Samaj has celebrated all major religious festivals including Navratri, Diwali and New Year, where we have had a great member turnout. Core activities
Our main activity on a day to day basis is to run our Mandir. Our thanks go to the Mandir committee who perform daily Puja, Arti and Nityaniyam in the morning and evening. Our Mahila have continued to play a huge role in the Samaj throughout the year and have taken responsibility for catering at major events and continuing to bring thal on a daily basis.
|
During Shravan month, we held two samuh kathas, a bhajan bhojan program and the Samaj celebrated its 31st Pran Pratista Mohotsav with the Dhaja Ropan ceremony and Ram Yagna. |
The Mahila have continued their gatherings on a regular basis covering various health topics. We have had health professional speakers, Zumba and Yoga sessions and cooking demonstrations. Exercise classes that run on a voluntary basis are in their 13th year and still have a good turnout.
The youth continue to participate in the sports activities. Bradford held its annual sports day on 7th and 8th June 2014. They also took part in HQ sports day. The Mahila continued their tradition of supporting the Anand Bazzar with their deliciously prepared food raising £ 240 towards the Mahila fund.

Charity Work
Our members have been continuing charitable activities throughout the year. Our chosen charities for 2013 / 2014, are Kirkwood Hospice and The Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
The Hospice provides specialist care, free of charge, to adults in Kirklees with advanced, progressive illnesses.
|
The Yorkshire Air Ambulance is an independent charity providing a lifesaving rapid response emergency service to 5 million people across Yorkshire.
Fundraising began with a raffle during Navratri raising £ 709.95 with the raffle draw being held during the Dashera Havan. Further fund raising was performed when Narendrabhai V Mistry and Sunil Mistry ran the Leeds Abbey Dash on 17th November 2013, braving 12,000 people and 10km distance to raise £ 560.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our members who have given seva to the Samaj over the past year. These people have contributed by volunteering their time, services, and taking part in all religious and social activities throughout the year and nothing would be possible without their support.
SPA Bradford Trustees / committee members wish everyone a Happy Diwali and a prosperous New Year.
