comments. Well done to the whole
team and keep up the fantastic work.
Prajapati Samachar – Vipulbhai
from Birminham has done his best to
continue with this, however due to
the lack of articles provided from the
branches he has not been able produce
an edition this year. This is extremely
disappointing as this was an excellent
way of keeping branches informed
of what was happening at branches
nationally.
SPAITF – SPA (UK) International
Trust Fund chaired by Hansaben K
and Prakashbhai have continued to
administer the International Trust Fund
with the help of the ITF committee. The
Terms of reference have been reviewed
and implemented. Both the Haiti, and
the Sanskruti Bhavan projects have
been given the grants to enable the
projects to complete. Keep up the good
work.
PRO – Kiranbhai has taken over this
role and has recently completed
a press release following another
successful Mahila Samelan.
Charity Co-ordinator – Jitubhai has
continued to research and forward
emerging information affecting the
Association to branches.
Constitution – The revision to the
constitution has now been concluded
and was formally approved at the AGM
and forwarded to Charity Commission.
Thanks to Jitubhai, Champakbhai and
Hemantbhai for their hard work in
ensuring this piece of work is finalised.
Other organisations – We have
continued our dialogue with HFB, and
other Prajapati Organisations abroad,
e.g. Navsari, Billimora, Canada, USA
etc.
There have been two key developments that SPA (UK) have contributed to:
1. Formation of the Dakshin Gujarat Prajapati Healthcare Trust in India
to assist with medical costs for poor Prajapati members in Gujarat,
headed by Dineshbhai of Navsari with support from Chandravadanbhai
from California, Harshadbhai/Chandrakantbhai from Calgary, SPA (UK)
and other Prajapati Sansthas in Gujarat.
I am sure you will all agree this is an extremely important development
for the Prajapati community in India and we hope SPA (UK) will have
the support of all our members, when requesting financial donation to
assist the trust.
2. Caste Discrimination Legislation: Jitubhai, along with some of the
other Hindu organisations, has been working round the clock to gather
support to lobby the representative in the House of Lords and House of
Commons to try and prevent the implementation of the new legislation
without proper consultation.
