SPA( UK) ITF Charity Project
Nominated Charity- WaterAid Clean water is essential for life but one in ten of the world’ s population does not have access to it. This and lack of safe sanitation result in over two million people dying from water related diseases every year. The lack of clean water close to people’ s homes also affect people’ s time, livelihoods and quality of life. This year’ s charity is WaterAid and the aim is to raise at least £ 10,000. Therefore, I urge all Affiliated Organisations to dedicate their fund raising activities for this project and let us bring joy and increase the mortality rate of those poor and needy people.
Shree Prajapati Vidyarthi Ashram and Sanskrutik Bhavan, Bilimora Shree Prajapati Vidyarthi Ashram and Sanskrutik Bhavan, Bilimora, had their opening ceremony on 25th December 2012. The total cost of the project was £ 250,000. The building is impressive and the committee will be organising more activities than before to utilise the venue to its full potential. SPA( UK)’ s contribution to the fund was £ 5,922 and I would like to thank all Affiliated Organisations who raised funds for this project.
NAIROBI TRUSTEES The participation and commitment of Nairobi Trustees still continues with the sub-committee and I am pleased to inform you that the interest accrued on the capital sum donated to SPA( UK) is continually used for charitable deeds. A sum of £ 1,860 has been given as education grants to seven students from South Gujarat. So a big thank you to all Nairobi Trustees for their continued support.
I believe that the success of SPA( UK) ITF is in the hands of our community and we as SPA( UK) need to give priority to promoting SPA( UK) ITF to bring the message of our good work to Prajapatis living in UK, and abroad and to organise a coordinated and systematic approach to our efforts to bring better quality of life to members of our community everywhere. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the Committee members, SPA( UK) Executives and Prajapati members for all their help and support to progress SPA( UK)’ s charitable deeds.

Haiti Appeal Following the 2010 earthquake in Haiti, SPA( UK) launched a disaster appeal and collected £ 9,164. We did not have known partners to work with. Through personal recommendations and further research, Foundation J’ Aime Haiti, whose aim was to offer computer classes to children and to other students from disadvantaged communities, was chosen.
Gerald Oriol Jr, the President of the foundation was very enthusiastic to work with SPA( UK). The project is now complete. Gerald provided comprehensive documentation to satisfy our trustees on how our donation was used. The way this project was managed by J’ Aime Haiti should be used as a model for similar projects in the future. We offer our sincere thanks to all who contributed towards this appeal
