Located on the 10th floor of Winnipeg’s iconic landmark The Fort Garry Hotel, is home to the award winning Ten spa. The spa is known for its cutting edge technology combined with traditional techniques making them a member of Spa Industry Association of Canada since 2007 and received Quality Assurance Seal of Approval for 6 consecutive years.
Spa Director, Elena Zinchenko opened Ten Spa’s doors ten years ago. Her story started in Ukraine, studying as a Hydrological Science Engineer, specializing in science of quality of ground water. Looking for change in 1997, Elena passionately studied skincare, seeing the potential she moved to Canada with her family. Elena researches latest technology world-wide, combining her extensive science background with aesthetics.
The new concept addition to Ten Spa was launched in May, 2015. Ten Skin RX is a new skin treatment using unique laser technology by Regenlite, a pulsed dye laser proving safe and effective for all skin conditions and types. Regenlite targets red blood cells and collagen fibers as well as killing bacteria, not suppressing it and causing it to return, proving highly successful for rosacea treatments and acne. Rosacea, a common ‘reddening’ skin condition in Winnipeg, due to its cold winters. Because this laser does not affect the melanin layer of the skin any and all skin colors are successful candidates. Their customized treatments include leading edge tools and equipment with their advanced facial treatments, such as light therapy with lymphatic drainage and LED therapy for various skin conditions give instantaneous results. A mantra of “inside out, not outside in,” With over 70 staff they blend a variety of skincare into a specialized program for each client, sometimes including microneedling to penetrate the skin deeper than traditional techniques.
HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training), similar to the popular fitness workout, Elena has approached skin care the same way. A 25-minute high intensity, small interval treatment using laser, tools, equipment and skin care.,
What’s next for Elena? Building an interactive experience by launching a newly updated website, as clients are just as much a part of the Ten Spa team as the team itself.
