Favourite Chewy Chocolate Cookies

1.5 cups all-purpose flour

½ cup cocoa powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon cornstarch

3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 cup packed brown sugar

1/2 cup white sugar

1 tablespoon vanilla extract

1 egg

1 egg yolk

1.5 cups of your favourite “extra” chocolates

Directions

Mix together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, cornstarch and salt; put aside.

In a medium bowl, cream together the melted butter, brown sugar and white sugar until well blended. Beat in the vanilla, egg, and egg yolk until light and creamy. Mix in the dry

ingredients until just blended. Stir in your favourite “extra” choclates by hand. I used Turtles. Place dough in the fridge for at least an hour, cooling the dough will result in a chewier cookie. If you prefer a harder cookie do not refrigerate. Preheat oven to 325. Remove dough from fridge and roll into balls, place on your cooking sheet. Bake for 12- 15 minutes in the preheated oven. Cool and enjoy !

1 cup pecans

1/3 cup cacao powder

2 cups pitted medjool dates

2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

1/4 teaspoon pink salt

1-2 teaspoon water
