Dear readers
This edition of Ask Mary is about con artists. Yes, and guess what? They do exist and please beware it is a part of any business.
Two people have contacted me these last two months and told me two appalling stories, which I am happy to share with you.
Story One:
A small spa owner who is in a small boutique aesthetics salon opened her first shop within the last year. She works till 8 pm two nights a week.
A lady had booked an appointment, the last one of the night and said she was from out of town. She and the owner/Aesthetician chatted, made her tea and made sure she was comfortable and enjoying herself. The customer had ordered a pedicure and a European facial, which both took two and a half hours. Afterwards she said her husband was coming to pick her up. And while she was waiting she picked out the most expensive facial creams and skincare products.
Finally she said "is it ok if my husband pulls up out front and he comes into pay as our baby is in the car." Of course the aesthetician said yes. The lady picked up two of her three bags of products leaving one on top to the counter, said he will be right in. She hugged the aesthetician, said what a marvelous time she had and out the door she went into the darkness.
Two minutes later the aesthetician went to the door to look for her and never saw that customer again.
