RACE INFO
With 40,000 runners taking to the roads of Soweto on 3 November for the 26th edition of the People’s
Race, here is some essential info all entrants must know.
THE 42.2KM
• Runners should arrive at the stadium by 4:30am
to allow time to get into the seeding pens.
• Seeding pens close 5:15am.
• Start time: 5:30am.
• No Marathon runner will be allowed to start
after 6am, as the organisers and route officials
will be preparing for the Half Marathon start.
• Water tables will be situated every 3km, with 14
tables in total.
• Cut-off times:
• Halfway (21.1km): 3 hours 20 minutes
• Comrades Marathon qualifier: 4 hours 50
minutes
• Two Oceans Marathon qualifier: 5 hours
• Finish: 6 hours
THE 21.1KM
• Runners should arrive at the stadium by 5am to allow
time to get into the seeding pens.
• Seeding pens close 6:15am.
• Start Time: 6:30am.
• Water tables will be situated every 3km, with 7
tables in total.
• Cut-off: Finish within 3 hours 30 minutes.
THE 10KM
• Runners should arrive at the stadium by 6am to allow
time to get into the seeding pens.
• Seeding pens close 6:45am.
• Start Time: 7am.
• Water tables will be situated every 3km, with 3
tables in total.
• Cut-off: Finish within 2 hours
