or the first time in 2019, the Soweto Marathon
will be broadcast via livestream, on the Soweto
Marathon’s Youtube channel, on the Soweto
Marathon Facebook page, as well as via the Soweto
Marathon twitter account. This means that friends and
family can go online to watch all the action, including
finishline coverage where they may see your finish.
The broadcast will start at 5:15am, with a build-up to
the marathon start, and the half marathon and 10km
starts will also be broadcast live. Two mobile cameras
on motorcycles will follow the men’s and women’s
leaders throughout, and there will be a camera in historic

Vilakazi Street as well. The livestream broadcast will
continue until 11:40am, just after the final cut-off of the
race.
An experienced commentary team will be led by
co-producer Manfred Seidler, along with Mosibodi
Whitehead, Teboho Masehla, Ntutu Letseka and Soweto
Marathon Coach Lindsey Parry, with Salama Khan
of Pedigree Media as Executive Producer. With their
collective running and broadcast experience, this team
will provide incisive information and analysis for viewers.
