The ice fishing is hot at Holmes Creek Reservoir just north of

Salt Lake City. Crappie, Rainbow Trout, Bullhead & Channel

Catfish, Largemouth Bass a and sometimes Walleye are hooked

here.

A hike in the canyonlands of Dead Horse Point State Park

rewards visitors with amazing views. Please be careful when

hiking, as the scenery may sweep you off of your feet with its

beauty. There are not many services at the park, but there are

hiking and mountain biking trails on the mesa that lead to many

scenic overlooks.

Snowshoe hare can be hunted until March 15, and the Light Geese

season wraps up on March 10. Cougar hunts are happening this

spring. Beaver and mink can be hunted as well.

Capitol Reef National Park offers camping near the Fruita hist-

oric district, which has ancient petroglyphs, an old wood barn, the

restored one room log schoolhouse, and some other historic

attractions. Several primitive backcountry camping areas

are located along hiking trails that cross the canyonlands of

smooth red rock.

March is the snowiest month at Snowbird Ski Resort. With nearly

100 trails of fine Utah powder, Snowbird is a great place for

s skiers of every skill level.
