The Campfire Outdoors Guide
Arizona
February brings cold nights and pleasant days in the deserts of Arizona.
Hiking, biking, birding, and exploring the Grand Canyon are all great activities in Arizona this month. Rafting white water rapids is great in the winter, as long as
you don't mind the possibility of cold and snowy weather. If you prefer a calmer water experience, motor boating and canoeing on an Arizona lake is the answer;
Just try not to fall into the chilly water. Skiing in the Arizona Snowbowl or Sunrise Park resort is an awesome family activity. Since Arizona is not widely known as a ski destination, crowds are smaller and prices are lower.
Head out to an Arizona lake for some good Bass and Trout fishing this month.
Many small mammals can be hunted this month, such as tree squirrels, cottontail rabbits, raccoons, bobcats, foxes, ringtails, weasels,
badgers, coati, prairie dogs, coyotes, beavers, skunks, weasels and muskrat.
Quail, chukar and pheasants can be hunted until February 10. Check the seasons here: http://www.azgfd.gov/regs/mainregs.pdf
