3 Southwest Highways & Fields
Howdy Folks, I'm writing this letter while sleet is falling out of the gray sky and bouncing off the tin roof. Winter is here, and with it comes a many recreation ideas, listed in The Campfire, page 5. As some of you may know, this is the second issue of Southwest Highways & Fields. We added a Calendar of events, page 35, to help you plan fun day trips and weekend getaways. I love seeing this magazine grow, but I am being pushed to my limits of how many features I can write in a month, so seeing some of you readers stepping up and becoming contributors would be really awesome! You don't have to write an article every month, but I am having trouble with the feature article, so please, if you have a cool idea, email me and we can talk about it.
I have had readers tell me that this publication is not compatible with mobile phones or tablets, and unfortunately, to do that I must pay $40 a month, which is not possible considering the magazine's current free-to subscribe/advertise status. We are still in the very humble beginnings of this publication, and again, I thank you for sticking with us. If you think your friends or family would enjoy this magazine, tell them to email [email protected] to subscribe for free!
I hope you will find some time to enjoy the great outdoors this month, whether it's a long backcountry trip in Big Bend, or just a calm hike at your local State Park, getting outside is the key to health and happiness for you, your children, and whoever else is tagging along.
Have a great February,
-Eamon Decker, Editor
