Just a little bit too early to make it into this issue of our
magazine, but well worth a review, the 70th Edinburgh
International Film Festival was another huge success
with a huge variety of films covering many genres as
well as many national and international premiers
We were pleased to be official reviewers for the film
festival this year. With so many fimls available we were
only able to review a very small selection. A few of our
favourites included “Ithaca” and “A Patch of Fog”.
Our reviews can be read at

Probably one of the best received films this year (and
another of our favourites) was the official festival
closing film. This new version (and premiere) of the
much loved “Whisky Galore” starring Gergor Fisher
and Eddie Izard is sure to take its place amongst many
people’s favourites for many years to come. A shortened
version of our review is published here.
The EIFF is also trying to build up a complete archive of
its activities over the past 70 years and is happy to hear
from anyone involved in the past with EIFF with
recollections of previous years
Although over, you can still visit the EIFF website for
