Soon our families will be gathering to celebrate the holidays of 2018. We will celebrate a time of Thanksgiving … giving thanks for food, family and friends. We pray for everyone to have safe travel during the holidays. We at Southern Writers Magazine want to thank each one of you for your support and contribution to the magazine. It truly is a labor of love and a privilege for us to be able to work with wonderful authors and promote their books. You have been a blessing to us. This issue holds information on getting books optioned for movies. We will learn how they were discovered, and the things involved in making the movies. We will hear from Michele Cox on–From When God Calls the Heart, Nancy Naigle’s Hallmark Holiday Movies–two of her novels debut on Hallmark this holiday season; listen to New York top editor, Christine Pepe and Crime Fiction Best-Selling author Reed Farrel Coleman discuss the best advice for writers; the ins-and-outs of screenwriting techniques from professors at Reinhardt University; p.m.terrell shares with us how book-trailers sell our books and much more. We are celebrating our seventh year. As Christmas and the wonderful holidays approach and we gather around our trees, unwrapping our presents and enjoying the festivities let’s remember the families whose loved ones are far from home and wish for them special blessings praying for safe keeping of our men and women protecting our country. Let all of us remember how blessed we are to live in this wonderful country and give thanks for our freedoms. The family and staff of Southern Writers want to wish each of you a Happy Thanksgiving, a Merry Christmas and a Happy Holiday. Happy Writing! Susan Reichert Editor-in-Chief
