L ETTER FROM THE EDITOR We are celebrating our “Seventh Year Anniversary”. Seems like it was yesterday we published our first issue and here we are today publishing our forty-third edition. Time has a way of flying at speeds we are unaware of until it comes to a special date—such as a birthday or anniversary. Then we look up and say, “Wow! Where did the time go?” For us, the time went by while we researched for authors who were living their dreams and being successful in the process. The authors who were happy to show the “how-to” be a published author. To share the ins and outs of effective promotions and marketing avenues they found productive. By sharing their stories and writing techniques, they have helped many writers hone skills and become better writers. To date we have promoted over 2960 plus authors. We have had the privilege of meeting and getting to know the authors who graced our pages. It was our honor to promote each one. We want to take this time to thank all the authors who have so graciously supported Southern Writers Magazine. As we go into our upcoming year, we hope to bring you more exiting venues to promote authors and their books. We hope to add video and audio to our online magazine in the future, which will enhance the books in the magazine and open doors for readers to have more opportunities to get to know the authors. In this issue, you will learn which colors sell more books, in-depth editing process, how to write a Psalm, how to use heartache and brokenness to write a best-selling book, how to write drama plays for church and school, why writing Southern novels sell, techniques for writing for kids, heavenly nudges on writing, writing games and more. We’re not just a magazine—we’re also an author’s right arm working to promote you and your books. Let us help you promote your books. Join our family now. Let us walk with you on this road. We want to get good books out into the market. Happy Anniversary and Happy Writing! Susan Reichert Editor-in-Chief
