Summer 2017 Courses Sowing the Wind: The Seeds of Our Conflicts in the Middle East We will examine the consequences of nearly 150 years of active resentment and catastrophe from the intervention of Great Britain, France and the USA in the Middle East, Iran and Afghanistan. We shall examine the idealised landscapes of Claude and Poussin, the naturalistic representations of 17th century Dutch painters and the changes brought by Constable, Turner and the Impressionist masters.
