White Oak Falls

After parking at the access point for Brush Creek Falls , continue down the trail past Brush Creek ’ s rushing waters , another 1.75 miles to reach the more delicate White Oak Falls . This cascade tumbles over tiered rock formations – where the White Oak Branch meets the Bluestone River . As you make your way back to the Brush Creek Falls parking area , you ’ ll round out your hike at about 4 miles total , through both State Parks and Nature Conservancy land .

Brush Creek Preserve and Falls

Brush Creek Falls , pictured at left , is among Mercer County ’ s most popular scenic attractions . A revamped trail starting at Brush Creek Road is now providing better access . Open year-round , this preserve is near Brush Creek Falls , a popular spot for photographers and nature lovers . From the Athens Exit (# 14 ) of I-77 , turn east on County Route 7 ( Mercer Springs Road ). In . 1 mile turn left on County Route 14 ( Ead ’ s Mill Road ). Go 3.3 miles and turn right on County Route 3 ( Brush Creek Falls Road ). At . 3 mile cross the bridge and park at the shelter . Walk the trail down the east side of the creek for . 25 mile to reach the falls and Nature Conservancy Preserve .
