P
eople came out in droves recently
for the 4th annual Walk To End
Alzheimer’s at the Walkway Over
the Hudson to raise money to help people
and families who have been affected by
this disease.
People who walked carried different
colored flowers – purple if they have lost
someone to Alzheimer’s; Blue if they are
living with Alzheimer’s; Yellow if they
are a caregiver and Orange if they are
supporting the cause financially or as a
volunteer. There is only one white flower
to honor their first survivor.
The Alzheimer Association’s website
states that they are the, “leading voluntary
health organization in Alzheimer’s care,
support and research. Our mission is to
eliminate Alzheimer’s disease through
David Sobel, President and CEO of the Hudson Valley Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association,
spoke with participants in the Walk.
