Last week, administrators and teachers
at the Marlboro Middle School gave a
presentation to the school board that
highlighted their goals for the 2017-18
school year.
Principal Debra Clinton acknowledged
all of the faculty, staff and parents in
attendance at the board meeting.
“At the Middle School we are truly a
team and it takes everybody in this room
to make the things that happen here a
success,” she said.
Clinton said this year the goal is to
“create a sense of belonging for all
students at the Middle School as we
continue to increase student engagement
and connectivity academically, socially
and emotionally.” She said they will
continue to advance opportunities in
Science, Technology, Engineering,
Arts and Mathematics [STEAM] for all
students.
Clinton said the number of students
choosing to opt out of state assessments
in English Language Arts and in
Mathematics continues to be troubling.
