At its last meeting the Lloyd Town
Board approved a requested zoning
change for the New Village View Assisted
Living Center on Grove Street from its
long-standing designation of Central
Business [CB] to Residential ¼ acre –
single-family residence ¼ acre. The vote
was 4-1, with Councilman Mike Guerriero
the sole no vote. The applicant will now
go before the Planning Board to present a
site plan on their proposed changes to the
building.
The building is presently 13,660 sq/
ft and the applicant is proposing to add
13,150 sq/ft for a total of 26,810 sq/ft. The
center will also increase the number of
beds from 23 to 40.
Prior to the vote, resident Wendy
Rosinski reminded the board that to
date the applicant has only submitted a
flat architectural plan of their proposed
project. She asked if the board has
considered the elevations on the site and
the impacts to the neighborhood from the
increased size and the removal of several
adjacent houses that the applicant also

Agri-tourism
Meet Me in Marlborough is alive and well
By MARK REYNOLDS

Recently,
the
agri-tourism
organization Meet Me in Marlborough
met at the Perch Restaurant and
brought together a cross-section of
local businesses, farmers, vintners and
associations who are all interested in
promoting all things Marlborough to
the local community and to a wider
public in the Hudson Valley and beyond.
Executive Director Sheila Mannese
introduced Rick Remsnyder, Director
of the Ulster County Department of
Tourism. His department recently
approved a grant of $2,500 that Meet
Me in Marlborough will use to print a
newly revised brochure, highlighting
the organization’s membership and
activities. His department will also assist
in distributing it in a monthly mailer, at
three stops on the NYS Thruway and at
other choice spots in the county.
“The reason we’re here is because
Marlboro and Milton, I think, are really
on the rise,” he said. “There are so many
great assets here; the Walkway Over
the Hudson, which is basically down
the road, and averages 500,000 people
a year going over it. We are hoping to
work with Meet Me in Marlborough to
help get some of those people to come
south to here. We want people to come to
Frieda’s, to the waterfront, to the Milton
Train Station.”
Remsnyder said he and County
Executive Mike Hein “are invested in
making Milton and Marlboro and this
area bigger and better and we’ll do
anything we can.”

“to grow and to thrive” and works to
