Train station renovation completed Another hat

After 11 years of dedicated work and
one final coat of new paint, the restoration
of the 1883 Milton Train Station is now
complete. The station will now become a
center for all of the residents of Marlboro
and Milton.
Glenn Clarke became involved in the
project at the request of Al and Cindy
Lanzetta to see what could be done with
the crumbling station structure and an
out-building.
“At that time we had cold storage here
and other buildings here and the place
was a mess. All the windows had been
knocked out and gone,” he said.
After a study group was founded, a
train station Foundation was established.
“They met at my house once a month
and we marched on,” he said. “We had to
get going on fundraising [because] that’s
the only way we could get this all done.”
Clarke gave special thanks to
Pat Quick and to his many dedicated
volunteers who met at the station every

has thrown his hat in the race for the
seat in the 104th District of the New York
State Assembly. Coates faces at least two
opponents in the Democratic primary
election in September. “I have a passion
for working in
the
heart
of
communities,” said
Coates when asked
why he decided to
run.
If elected to the
job, Coates said
he would work to
enact
education
reform,
protect
women’s
rights

and expand voting
opportunities. “It should not be difficult
to vote in New York State,” said Coates,
who supports early voting, same-day voter
registration and online voter registration.
“I believe in protecting women’s rights,”
he said, including a woman’s right to an
abortion.
Coates also supports criminal-justice
reform. “We have way too many non-
violent offenders in prison,” he said.
