Young’s Motors has a new owner

ast month Drew Picon purchased
Young’s Motors in Milton from long-
time owner Jeff Aldrich, renaming it
the New Young’s Motors.
Picon and Aldrich both grew up in
the car business with fathers who owned
dealerships.
“We knew no other life other than the
car business,” he said.
Picon said Young’s Motors was started
by Jeff Aldrich’s grandfather, Edward,
in 1928.
Picon explained why he was drawn to
purchase the local dealership.
“I like small stores. I like small
communities. I like stores that have been
around forever and have phenomenal
reputations and have family and heritage.
That’s what I like,” he said. “I’m not
a big dealer type of guy. I don’t like
the massive auto-malls or dealerships
that are sprawling and have hundreds of
employees and thousands of cars. It’s not
me.” Presently Young’s Motors has about
25 full time employees.
Picon pointed out that many generations
in Marlborough have purchased cars from
Young’s Motors.
“You build a business on reputation and
taking care of the community and taking
care of your customers,” he explained.
“That is something you can’t find today
in the automotive business; it’s just not
there.”
