Kempe worked with the town in 2009 to develop the code that was based on data gleaned from a 2009 Tri-County housing study. “It was prepared by an economist and adopted by the County of Ulster and it drills down to a series of to be built targets in both home ownership and rental housing for each municipality in Orange, Dutchess and Ulster counties,” he said. The district has recently sent our Requests For Proposals [RFP] that contractors must respond to by February 7 at 2 p.m. The district laid out its objective at the beginning of the document, stating the purpose of, “this RFP is to solicit proposals for an energy project to assist the District to become as energy efficient as possible through installation of energy conservation measures and implementation of optimal operation and maintenance procedures. The District wishes to implement the proposed comprehensive energy project on an energy performance contract basis.” Bill Tangney, of the Siemens Industry Inc., recently gave a presentation before the school board and the administration on the process of making energy improvements within the district, Continued on page 3
