The Hudson Valley Rail Trail
Association’s ‘Winterfest’ has reached
the 20 year mark. The annual event
attracted hundreds to the trail head last
Saturday to enjoy a friendly chili cook-
off competition despite a cold afternoon.
Fourteen area restaurants brought their
best chili concoctions to the fest with
the Gateway Diner taking First Place,
followed by Three Guys Pizza at 2nd
place and the Hudson Valley Rail Trail
Association itself taking home the third
place honors.
The kids had fun roasting marshmallows
and eating chestnuts, while the teenagers
took turns singing karaoke to pop song
hits both past and present. Dave DuBois
of DuBois Farms in Highland provided
wagon rides to everyone, as he has done
every year.
- Mark Reynolds
Teens sang their hearts out to karaoke pop tunes.
