he Town of Lloyd Historical
Preservation Society’s annual
Antiques Night, when people bring
articles for appraisal, felt a little like
rummaging through other people’s attics,
minus the cobwebs and broken furniture. These imagined attics were filled
only with fascinating discoveries, some
worth a lot of money and some not so
valuable in dollar terms. “Priceless,”
was how antiques dealer Charles Glasner
described many items in the latter category, especially items that had been in the
owner’s family for generations.
The program took place on Monday,
January 4 at Vineyard Commons in
Highland. At each Antiques Night, everyone is invited to bring cherished items
to be studied and appraised by antiques
experts. This year Glasner, the Society’s
president, and Vivian Wadlin, vice president and collector of antique toys, did the
appraising.
