Six candidates running for the Democratic nomination for the NY 19th Congressional seat participated in a forum at the Marlboro High School last Saturday. By MARK REYNOLDS [email protected] Six candidates for the NY 19th Congressional seat appeared at a forum at the Marlborough High School last Saturday at the invitation of the Marlborough Democratic Committee, organized by Mici Simonofsky. One of the six will be chosen on Primary Day, June 26 to represent the Democratic Party. Simonofsky welcomed the candidates and the public to the forum and each candidate was given the opportunity to introduce themselves and to tell a bit of their own story and their political beliefs. Jeff Beals Jeff Beals began with a question; one that all of the candidates share: “Are you ready to get rid of John Faso and open a new chapter for our community?” Beals is a High School teacher and his wife Suhayr is a kindergarten teacher in Woodstock “and our sons Abraham (5) and Joseph (7) go to school with us.” Beals said his four grandparents survived the holocaust but “lost their world to the rise of intolerance in their country and came to America as refugees. They came here for a better start and worked in factories and sweatshops in New York City and found a piece of paradise here in the Hudson Valley in Sullivan County in the Catskills.” Beals started his career in the
