Lloyd Ethics Board is reorganized

it was the Supervisor who made that decision. At a previous Town Board meeting
Supervisor Paul Hansut apologized to Joe
on how this matter was handled.
It came out that presently the Town
Board does not have to contact anyone
who is up for reappointment, with Ethics
Board member Debra Haab also pushing for a written process. Chairwoman
Indelicato took this further, suggesting
that it be done for all volunteers who
serve on town committees or boards.
“The whole thing is a moot point,”
Joseph Indelicato said, adding that
even if the Ethics Board recommended
appointing a third alternate he was going
to remove himself from consideration.
“Like I said, it’s water under the bridge
[and] I feel pretty much insulted by the
whole situation. I want to thank you guys
for the four years I’ve been on the board.
I’ve enjoyed it; it’s been a very fulfilling
experience. Hopefully you guys can find
a third to represent the community.” Jill
Indelicato urged Joe to reconsider his
position.
At the next Town Board meeting Jill
Indelicato said she would recommend
that the public be allowed to submit a letter of complaint directly to any member
of the Ethics Board for their consideration. She said this provision has been
recommended to the Town Board many
times in the past but “the board has not
moved in that direction.”
Presently, if a resident has an ethical
complaint they must submit it to a town
employee or committee volunteer who in
turn signs it and presents it to the Ethics
Board.
