Santa comes to Highland
The Highland community welcomed the
holiday season Friday night with help from
many of Santa’s helpers. The list is large
and Santa should take note that they should
all be placed on the nice list. The Interact
Club and the Flex students from the
Highland High School were the backbone
to the magical transformation of Santa’s
Workshop and their creativity is amazing.
The workshop space is made possible by
the generosity of Ethan Jackman. The
Highland High School Tri-M Music Honor
Society, Cham ber Choir, Brass Band and
Chamber Music Ensembles provided
musical entertainment and songs of the
season at various locations within the
hamlet. The Rotary Club of Highland
served hot chocolate while the Clintondale
Fire Department kept participants toasty
warm near the fire pit. The Adonai Lodge
#718 and Bushiken Karate Skinner Dojo
passed out sweet treats of candy canes!
The Highland Support Association held
a holiday raffle to support the BackPack
Program at Calvary Church and Cub Scout
Pack #70 made and sold fresh balsam
wreaths. Baker and Sons donated and
decorated the Christmas tree with lights
donated by Cutting Edge Contracting.
Transportation for Santa is made possible
by the Highland Hose Company No. 1 and
the Lloyd Police Department. All of the
members of the Events Committee should
be added to Santa’s nice list as these events
wouldn’t happen without their support and
hardwork. A special thank you to Santa
for his commitment of time to visit with
the children!
