Marlborough Deputy Supervisor John
DeMarco prepared a slide presentation
that offered a snapshot of the town’s 2016
budget at the half-year mark.
DeMarco said so far 2016 has been
stable year.
“There haven’t been any real significant
surprises that would cause us to worry
about going off-track for the year,” he
said.
DeMarco said revenues that have been
collected or billed are “on plan” and that
gross spending is “under control and
consistent with the first half of the year
expectations.” He said the forecast for the
second half of 2016 “is to be on plan and
to meet our budget commitments to the
taxpayers.”
One slide broke out the gross expenses
of $8.8 million, consisting of $4.25 million
for the General Fund, $2.39 million for
Highway, $1.08 million for fire (both
departments), $790,000 for water, $270,000
for sewer and $58,000 for lighting.
DeMarco noted that to date the town
has spent $5 million of the 8.8 million,
