Plattekill updates the
public on racetrack

Last week Plattekill Supervisor Joe
Croce said Anthony Kalamucki, owner of
AK Farms motocross racetrack, has yet
to respond fully to a series of questions
the board has requested concerning
his proposal to continue racing at his
property. The track was closed on Dec. 31
as per a court stipulation.
Croce said the town is still asking
Kalamucki how he would mitigate
long-standing issues of noise, dust and
overnight parking at the track, if the
board were to grant him permission to
continue.
It was pointed out to the board that
Kalamucki has already posted dates on
his website for 5 practices and 10 races
from May through October of this year
despite a ban on racing at the site. Croce
said the website postings were brought to
his attention at a previous Town Board

The Marlborough Town Board
recently held a lengthy discussion with
representatives of the proposed Bayside
residential development project that is
intended for a 25-acre parcel that fronts
onto Route 9W and borders Purdy Avenue
in Marlboro. Owner Asher Sussman,
along with General Contractors Sandy
Pankin and Bill Landa, are proposing
to build four, two-story structures and
a small one-story clubhouse, consisting
of 84 two-bedroom apartments, each
with 950 sq./ft. and 20 three-bedroom
apartments at 1,150 sq./ft., for a total of
228 bedrooms. The developer is expecting
to rent the two bedrooms from $1,350 to
$1,500 per month and the three bedrooms
from $1,600 to $1,750 per month. Sussman
estimated the project would cost $13
million to build.
There is a 2.09-acre commercial lot on
Route 9W that Sussman would either
improve or sell to another developer. In
addition, he is willing to donate 1.25 acres
