Dropping the
first dollar
Major Barbara Rich of the DFW Metroplex Command was on hand at Neiman Marcus when Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings put the first dollar of the season into a Red Kettle for this year's campaign.
The mayor’s contribution didn’t stop there – he also took his turn ringing the bell as employees from
Neiman Marcus filed by to drop their $1 donation into the Kettle. The Salvation Army’s Metroplex
Command has Red Kettles at hundreds of locations in Dallas, Tarrant, Collin, Denton and Ellis counties. Funds raised in the Red Kettles provide operating revenue for 15 Salvation Army centers across
the Metroplex throughout the year.
