Q: (TJ) When did you realize your talents in managing artist and running an entire record label? A: I actually realized my talent in the realm of management while working for N-Finity Records. I was signed on as executive producer and oversaw the development of various artists on the label. Q: (TJ) So how did it come about that you signed such talented artist as "Slugga" and “Rolla”? A: Well, actually I met Rolla through one of his relatives. At the time, I had already started South Starr Entertainment and had a roster of other artists. But when I met Rolla, he had a different flare being that he was raised in Philadelphia and lived in South Carolina, so that gave him a slightly different edge. As far as Slugga is concerned: I met him through a mutual friend of mind. They wanted to introduce us because they felt like his style and personality would fit well with the SSE brand. They knew that I specialized in artist development and the rest is history. Q: So "No Drawz" being the first single to really take over, how did your life change after the success of the single? A: Well, life did change with the release of that single in particular. People started showing a great appreciation for the type of music that we were producing and from there, the requests just started pouring in. It’s like, we went from being invited to open up for major artists to being the “headline” of the event…It was completely a humbling experience. There’s nothing like it. Q: (TJ) so have you been shopping "Twerk Off" to major labels or are you indie until you die? A: Of course, labels have been inquiring about quite a few of our records and there are some things in the works.
