EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Well , this is the way my column started last year :
“ 2020 tested us beyond measure . Our families , friends , businesses and our society in general , nothing was left unaffected by COVID-19 . It was definitely a year like no other and I am glad we have moved on to 2021 . No doubt , many challenges will persist into 2021 . I hope we can continue to come together as a region and a community to support our vital local businesses , thank those essential workers that put themselves in harm ’ s way and follow CDC guidelines to get past this virus .”
And , as you already know , 2021 was not much better than 2020 . And yet , through the difficulties , our region of Kentucky has come together to whether the storm .
I would like to thank the Chamber corporate sponsors , members and volunteers who make this Chamber successful and relevant .
Being a Chamber member is beneficial to your business and aids in the growth of our communities and our region . For the past several years the Chamber has been the largest contributor to economic development , including the administration , recruitment and retention of current business and industry . We proudly support and promote all current business and industry in the region while also working hard to recruit new businesses and jobs to our communities . During the State legislative session , the Southern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce is a strong advocate for the interests and concerns of our member businesses .
Chamber members have access to many valuable benefits , including :
• The ability to network and market your business through Chamber programs and initiatives .
• A newly re- designed Chamber membership plaque to display at your place of business , showing that you are an active member of the local business community .
• A company profile , which can be tailored by you , on the chamber website , which includes a search engine featuring all member business by name , business type or alphabetical search .
• Ribbon cutting and grand opening ceremonies and celebrations if you have just joined the Chamber , expanded , relocated or renovated .
• Referrals by our staff to your products and services .
• Access to the Chamber Rack program where you can display your company ’ s promotional materials .
• Open invitation to our organization ’ s monthly general membership meetings where we schedule interesting , engaging speakers that focus on issues relevant to the business community .
• Recognition in the new quarterly publication Strictly Business .
• And , of course , recognition in the annual Chamber Directory .
We will keep working for , advocating for and representing our business community in 2022 and I look forward to partnering with every one of our member businesses for continued progress this year . Wishing everyone a healthy , happy and prosperous 2022 !
