provements and upgrades to the facility in the coming months and years . “ In 17 years , there have not been many renovations to the facility ,” Carpenter said , “ so we will be in the process , very soon , of replacing the carpeting in many of the rooms with more durable flooring , replacing the window treatments , painting the multipurpose room and even completing upgrades to the exterior of the building .” One of Carpenter ’ s long-term goals is to upgrade the audio / video capabilities throughout the facility . “ I hope to have a central audio / video mainframe , so if we have a large crowd that overflows into other smaller rooms , the smaller rooms will be fitted with the same audio / video accessibility as the larger rooms ,” Carpenter added . “ This will also move us towards the goal of The Corbin Center being more of a conference center capable of hosting larger corporate events that spread over several days .” “ I have spoken with a couple of hotel developers . I feel that if the right situation were to develop on the property adjacent to The Corbin Center and a hotel were to be build there , that would also open more doors of opportunity . Imagine hosting a large conference where the attendees are able to stay right next door . This even leads to the possibility of using rooms in the hotel for breakout sessions away from the main conference ,” Carpenter said . All of these renovations and upgrades to the building , Carpenter believes , will make it even more functional for all types of events to be held at The Corbin Center for years to come , making it a first-class facility that people are proud to access and have in their community .
