Between Heartland Humane Society in Ottumwa and Stephens Memorial Animal Shelter in Oskaloosa , there are dozens of cats and dogs looking for love and a family they can trust . Lennie | Heartland Humane Society
Lennie is a four-and-ahalf-year-old tri-colored Treeing Walker Coonhound mix . His favorite activities include : long walks , using his sniffer to explore , napping on his fluffy blanket and , most of all , singing the song of his people . Lenny has been at the shelter since July of 2021 . He would need a home where he doesn ’ t have to share his people with any other dogs . He is potty trained , walks great on a leash and loves to snuggle the shelter staff when they sit on his bed with him .
Bull | Stephens Memorial
Bull is a four-year-old Pit Bull mix . He gets along with everyone and is very energetic . He has been at Stephens Memorial for a year and is patiently waiting for his forever home .
Pippie | Heartland Humane Society
Pippie is a one-year-old Catahoula Leopard Dog mix . She is a spunky girl who loves to play . Her favorite things in the world are basketballs and “ Jolly Balls .” More than anything , Pippie loves people . She can be a little noisy in her kennel but once she ’ s outside , she ’ s very affectionate . Pippie would prefer a family that has lots of time to be able to train her to do all sorts of fun things ( She already knows “ sit !”).
Lita | Stephens Memorial
Lita is a one-yearold tortoiseshell cat . She was born at the shelter without a tail and has been there since . She is very playful and loves to run around .
