BRIDESMAIDS, HEAT, and SALT. These
films that have delved into strong suited
female characters have an ongoing trend
that has become so critical to big-budget
films that they’re beginning to upstage
their male leads-in some cases seizing the
title role.
fascinating, Villains are challenging because
they provide such fascinating case studies.
You’re presented with a villain and the first
question is – “What do they want? Why are
they villainous?” So in BLUE SUEDE the case
with my character LIN it’s a bit complex,
BLUE SUEDE, which opens fall 2014, could

REVENGE.
Jasmine St Claire: It’s the first time in a
film like this female characters have a say.
Director and writer Jr. Hepburn leaves all the
seduction sexual typical Hollywood mantra
at the door. He brings to life characters that
are in total control over the provocation of
chaos. There’s a delight in that.
In his third round of indie action, film director
Jr. Hepburn not only brings together a
web of Mafioso, but also strong intriguing
characters. Lead actresses Jasmine St Claire
and Ozzie Aziz spoke with Stevenson Dor
about the state of cinematic heroines in film
— why we love bad girls, why BLUE SUEDE
is being hailed as the next indie cinematic
master piece, and who is this director being
hailed as the next Robert Rodriguez.
What intrigues you about bad
girls?
Why BLUE SUEDE?
Ozzie Aziz: And it’s worth mentioning
that the character of Lin is this great chess
master, she has this straight poker face, but
occasionally the audience is allowed to see
a flicker of truth, emotional truth.
Jasmine YOU WERE Quoted as
saying on a radio show: JR.
HEPBURN is the next Robert
Rodriquez?
Jasmine St Claire Well, that is the eternal
question. There is this old phrase that “the
devil plays all the best tunes.” There is a kind
of freedom to being bad, and embracing
of one’s most rebellious
instincts. When you play a
bad girl, you sort of cut
loose from that sense
of propriety.
Jasmine St. Claire: I couldn’t agree more.
When you have Hollywood actors like
Robert Miano from Donnie Brasco speaking
highly of such a script, and also other high
caliber actors attempting to move around
their schedules for a cameo role. That
speaks volumes about his work. This guy’s
ideas are unique, and Tarantino level.
Ozzie Aziz: I find
motivations in
people’s emotional
and
psychological
makeup
to
be
OZZIE AZIZ: Jasmine comments go without
saying. With most films that involve such
a massive cast of a large scale it is hard for
most writers to get that balance. It’s almost
like a ballet. Jr. always refers his writing like

number.
