First cousins Greg and Ted Huber represent the sixth generation of the Hubers who own and operate the Huber ’ s Orchard , Winery & Vineyards . Assisted by their wives , Jan and Dana , their agritourism business has expanded over the years to include almost 700 acres . Their children assist in areas where they can , extending the Huber name into its seventh generation .
As marketing techniques and entertainment choices may change , the root of the Huber ’ s business remains constant . The Hubers embrace bringing the product of the farm to the table , the bottle , or the glass . Today Huber ’ s Orchard , Winery & Vineyards presents a cornucopia of experience from the farm . Operations include a U-Pick experience , Farm Market , Ice Cream and Coffee Shop , Winery , Distillery , Farm Park and Events Facility . The beautiful setting of the hills of Starlight , Indiana allows Huber ’ s guests to understand and appreciate the wonders of nature .
Because agriculture is at the heart of everything the Hubers do , the greatest ally as well as the greatest challenge comes from Mother Nature . The farmers at Huber ’ s make the most of the land , but there are still times when a late frost , unseasonably heavy rains , or an extended dry spell can wreck havoc upon the day-to-day operations of the Huber business .

The Huber story wanders all the way back to 1843 when Simon Huber immigrated to a piece of farm land in Southern Indiana . Choosing about 80 acres in the beginning , Huber brought with him years of German experience in fruit growing and wine making .
