The Koetter Group is based out of Floyds Knobs .
One of Southern Indiana ’ s long standing family businesses is making moves to maintain the company for future generations .
The Koetter Group is based out of Floyds Knobs , on a sprawling campus including a walking trail , farmland and office space .
The at-home feel where everyone is family is part of the culture that keeps people employed there for decades .
Earlier this year , the group appointed longtime employees and some family members to executive roles . It ’ s all in an effort to keep the business in the family for generations .
Bob Koetter Jr ., CEO of Koetter Group , said he ’ s been working with the University of Louisville Family Business Center and learning about the importance of governance and structure when it comes to keeping the culture at a company .
“ Employees have been here for 30- plus years ,” he said . “ Some of them , 45-years . Those people are part of the family .”
The group has become the holding company for its four primary businesses . Koetter Construction , Koetter Real Estate , Koetter Building Services and K-Rax Premium Spirits Barrel Storage Systems .
K-Rax is an aspect of the company Bob Koetter Jr . is spending a lot of time on right now and he said the new positions at the group give him more time to make personal connections with the employees .
At Koetter Group Todd Magner has been named President of Construction . Greg Schmidt has been named President of Koetter Real Estate . The Director or Steel position will be filled by Brage Koetter . Mitch Koetter has been named Director of Operations . The Business Systems Manager role will be filled by Deon Carr .
For Mitch Koetter , it ’ s exciting to take on the new role . He is a third generation Koetter family employee
