Medella House : Four Charlestown Women start a recovery center to help their hometown

What is Medella House and what options does it offer women in our area who are looking to get back on their feet after dealing with addiction issues ?
Medella House is a sober living home for women looking to maintain a sober lifestyle after jail or rehab . Our goal is to give the women a safe and healthy home and a fresh start to begin the next chapter of their lives . In addition to providing a safe space for the women , we help connect women to local resources to aid in building a healthy lifestyle and equip them with real world tools to ensure outside of the home they are successful as well .

You decided to open Medella House where you live , why is it important to invest in Charlestown and
Southern Indiana ?
It was important for us to open Medella House in Charlestown because it is where we live and where we are raising our children . For years , this area or Southern Indiana in general , has been plagued by the drug epidemic and unfortunately there are not a a lot of resources or safe places for women to go to ensure they are no going right back to the environment in which fueled their addiction .

Medella House fills a need in this area , how were you able to find your niche in Southern Indiana ?
Each of us has been affected by addiction one way or another , personally and professionally . When we realized the need in the community , we did our due diligence researching other models of various recovery homes and pulled from each what we believed were best practices for successful completion of the programs to fit what we were trying to create . Our ultimate goal was to look at trends yet set our service model apart and try to go above and beyond providing women some extra amenities to ensure their comfortability and really make Medella House feel like home and set the bar for what their home after Medella House would feel like .
