I ’ ve had success thanks to the company I keep , the advice they give and the input they have shared . Many of my colleagues in business are valued resources for life balance ... don ’ t be afraid to share your successes and struggles , no doubt someone else is experiencing the same ! Sometimes the answer to difficult questions comes from my 15year old son JR , or my 12 year old daughter Sally .

Pivot , realign or whatever .
Whatever you want to call it , the past year and a half was difficult , but I realized I ’ m in the right position , doing what I love to do . My advice to younger professionals would be ... determine what you ’ re good at , then figure out a way to make a living . You will never regret doing something you ’ re good at , if you love it !
Get Involved .
Either in a community organization , professional group or simply volunteer . It will make you a strong leader , person & you may even learn something along the way ... great organizations to get involved are Leadership Southern Indiana , 1SI , or a volunteer position at your school . Don ’ t be afraid to be involved , it ’ s what makes our community great !
Take the trip .
Go on vacation , take the long way around or jump in the water ! I have learned life can be less stressful if you ’ re refreshed , recharged and with a revived perspective on life & business . Maybe it ’ s a walk in the woods , a trip with friends or simply a bike ride along the river ... you will never regret the time spent outside the daily hustle and bustle we all face .

Cry when it hurts , laugh when it ’ s funny . Play in the band . Try yoga . Live life to the fullest . And never forget to smile .
