2021 and beyond
There ' s little reason to believe the demand for housing in Southern Indiana will slow down soon .
“ We haven ' t had a real estate recession yet , and honestly , we ' re due for it , but as long as the rates stay low , you ' ll obviously see the growth ,” Murphy said .
Any governmental policies affecting property rates or increasing barriers for new development could slow the market , but otherwise , it ' s full-steam ahead , he continued .
The pandemic has forced people to work from home more , and Gasparine said that has resulted in many buyers seeking a house that includes an office space . It will be interesting to see if that trend continues into 2021 , she said .
“ Prices are still going up , value is going up , and I look for that to continue next year in 2021 ,” she said .
