• Floyd County Little League: I serve as vice president of T-ball and a
coach, where I am responsible for the organization of teams, draft-
ing of rules and teaching the fundamentals of baseball to our youth.
How has the coronavirus outbreak impacted your life most
and what will you tell future generations about COVID-19
from your perspective?
These are very unusual and trying times. The COVID-19 pandemic
has impacted my life in many ways such as learning how to work
remotely while remaining efficient. I have also had to overcome child-
care challenges and learn how to be socially distant from family and
friends.
I will tell future generations that although COVID-19 did change my
life, it didn’t define it. Life is full of hurdles, it’s up to each individual
how they choose to conquer them. Take time to build a strong emotional
and financial support system around you, you’re going to need both
at some point! Lastly, I would encourage future generations to stay
informed, be confident and have compassion.
.I.a
have imagined not being able to see my family and
friends whenever I wanted to. I will be more apprecia-
tive of those privileges going forward. I’ve also used
the time to reflect on things I should do differently when
life as normal resumes. I will be sure to take more time
for myself and rest going forward. Prior to this, I was
always go, go, go and I’m learning a little rest and a little
wiggle room in your routines and schedules is not a bad
thing from time to time. I will want future generations to
cherish every moment they spend with their loved ones.
