Ross Wallace Owner of Him Gentleman’s Boutique Single best thing about being involved — living or working — in South- ern Indiana: Building relationships with this amazing community is the reason I opened my store. Being able to see someone for the first time walk in the door of Him, then earning their trust and respect as they become more than clients, but members of my family. The way the New Albany community has accepted Him with such open arms is remarkable, and I am forever grateful. How has the coronavirus outbreak impacted your life most and what will you tell future generations about COVID-19 from your perspective? COVID-19 has forced me to temporarily close my doors to the public, which can be incredibly scary, but during this crisis I have decided to get creative and figure out how to serve my fan base in other ways. Even though it’s hard to think of my fellow small business owners being in the same situation, I have found it so inspiring to watch the innovation and perseverance of our community. When life throws you a curve ball like this one, you can either wallow in the fear or rise up and see the good that you can accomplish. My choice has only ever been to rise.  May / June 2020 39
