Ross Wallace
Owner of Him Gentleman’s Boutique
Single best thing about being involved — living or working — in South-
ern Indiana:
Building relationships with this amazing community is the reason I opened my store.
Being able to see someone for the first time walk in the door of Him, then earning their
trust and respect as they become more than clients, but members of my family. The
way the New Albany community has accepted Him with such open arms is remarkable,
and I am forever grateful.
How has the coronavirus outbreak impacted your life most and what
will you tell future generations about COVID-19 from your perspective?
COVID-19 has forced me to temporarily close my doors to the public, which can
be incredibly scary, but during this crisis I have decided to get creative and figure out
how to serve my fan base in other ways. Even though it’s hard to think of my fellow
small business owners being in the same situation, I have found it so inspiring to watch
the innovation and perseverance of our community. When life throws you a curve ball
like this one, you can either wallow in the fear or rise up and see the good that you can
accomplish. My choice has only ever been to rise.
