Definition of leadership:
Leadership is someone that empowers their
people to work together as a team to accomplish
the goal. This means collaborating on ideas and
accepting and listening to multiple viewpoints
to ensure all parties are heard and concerns are
addressed. A leader should be a facilitator and a
motivator to keep everyone moving in the same
direction.
How has the coronavirus outbreak im-
pacted your life most and what will you
tell future generations about COVID-19
from your perspective?
The coronavirus and the COVID-19 pandemic
has affected everyone’s lives in different ways.
For many people the requirement to stay home
and away from loved ones and friends is diffi-
cult. The aspect that is most difficult for me is to
not be in the fight against this virus and to not be
contributing in a way that seems meaningful. As
a military veteran I have always felt compelled
to help those in need and to run toward the fire,
so to speak. To have to be confined at home and
read and watch about what is going on in our
community, state, and nation can be frustrating
at times. These are unprecedented times that we
are living in and we all have to make sacrifices
for the greater good of our families and our coun-
try. I have been able to manage by staying busy
working from home and continuing the pursuit of
my MBA. I am truly thankful for the healthcare
workers and those on the front lines that are in a
race against time in fighting this pandemic. I am
grateful that we have members in our community
that are willing to step up, make a sacrifice, and
risk their own health for someone they may not
know. I know that my family and I are better for
these individuals.
