HOME OF THE INNOCENTS IS ABLE
TO EXPAND SERVICES
The most recent grant recipient was
Home of the Innocents, an organization
that serves at-risk children and families
in Southern Indiana. For them, the
grant money is serving as a catalyst to
expand and improve their office by training
therapists in evidence-based practices
to help families create more stable home
lives, upgrading their IT and renovating
their office space to be more family and
sensory-friendly.
And although the pandemic wasn’t a
factor at the time of the grant, the money
has also helped the organization ensure
that therapist training can take place virtually,
and that the space can be rearranged
to meet health and safety regulations.
At the end of the day, said Meredith
Pack, director of communications, the
goal is to give children and families a
warm, positive experience when attending
therapy that leads to stronger outcomes
as a result.
Connection counts
“For me, everything starts with my
vision for the future and how we’re going
to get there,” said Jadczak. And through
Impact 100, she can connect to other
women who want the same thing.
“Men and women give differently,” she
said. “Men write big checks and women
put in over-the-top effort for bake sales,
but it doesn’t bring in as much.” Her goal,
she said, is for women to understand that
they have just as big of an impact on the
community as anyone else.
IMPACT 100 IN 2020
Like many other Southern Indiana
organizations, COVID-19 has changed
the game for Impact 100. Because the
funding timeline was pushed back, the
grant amount for 2020 will be announced
on July 9. The application process will
then open up to nonprofits interested in
vying for the money, and the awards dinner
and final vote will be held on Oct. 29,
either live at The Refinery in Jeffersonville
or via absentee voting.
In order to be considered, nonprofits
must complete the grant application that
includes a 100-point list of criteria and
must focus on one of five areas: arts and
culture, education, environment and recreation,
family, or health and wellness.
Representatives from the three finalists
will be chosen to speak at the awards presentation,
and each woman who donated
to the grant fund gets a vote.
