The African Explorer, is the perfect entry level riding safari
where riders experience the thrill of encountering game on
horseback, first in the picturesque Waterberg Mountains in
South Africa and then in the ancient wilderness landscape
of Botswana’s Mashatu Game Reserve. During the first half
of the safari, riders build their confidence while riding with
hippo, giraffe, large herds of zebra and a range of other
plains game. This is perfect preparation for later adrenalin
fuelled rendezvous in Bostwana with elephant, lion,
hyena and cheetah, together with many other species. All
on well schooled, forward going and honest horses. Each
night riders share in the old ways, sleeping under canvas in
beautifully appointed camps, enjoying sumptuous meals
by the flickering light of the campfire, while surrounded
by the haunting sounds of the African night.
