Isn ’ t it strange how out of the blue you will remember something from your childhood ? Recently , for some odd reason , I remembered making an apple pizza that was a big hit with the family . We lived in Ft . Lauderdale , FL and I was in the ninth grade . I was in charge of making supper . I remember walking to the store to buy the groceries I would make supper with that evening . I ’ m sure we had round steak and gravy because it went a long way . What I do not remember is the exact recipe I used . However , I do remember the crust was made using cake mix . At least I think it was . Maybe it was the streusel that used the cake mix ? Maybe it was both ? Hey , give me a break . That was over a quarter of a century ago . I ’ ll figure something out as I take a leap of faith and try to recreate it . Here we go !
