A living succulent Christmas tree makes a great gift , or centerpiece for your holiday table . They are very easy to make . You ’ ll need a little patience and not be afraid to play in the dirt !
First , you ’ ll need to prep your succulents . Gently turn the succulent pot upside down , letting the succulent fall into your hand . Then remove all of the dirt , and rinse the roots off . I find a water hose on a gentle setting is best .
Once all your succulents are prepped , you can start attaching them to your grapevine cone tree . Start at the bottom along the piece of vine that wraps from the base to the top .
Put a dime to nickel size amount of glue on the bottom of your succulent and place it on the grapevine cone tree . Hold it in place until the glue sets up .
Continue up the vine that encircles the cone until you reach the top . Alternate types and colors of succulents to make your tree have more interest , and texture .
I placed my star topper on before I added on the last few succulents .
Lastly , go back to the base and glue in pieces of moss to cover any of your glue .
To keep your tree happy throughout the holiday season , simply spray the tree lightly with water every 10 - 14 days to keep the succulents alive for many months .
Once the succulents outgrow the tree or the season is over just pluck , plant and enjoy the succulents for many years to come !
