Southern Belle Magazine supports various charities helping children and teens fight cancer . In each issue , we ’ ll bring you a child ’ s story .
“ The docs gave me the option of doing treatment or don ’ t do the treatment and just live life for the time remaining ,” says Talia . “ Having cancer has been an amazing yet horrible journey , but every journey has an end . I will enjoy every minute I have with the world .” Talia has not given up , and will still take medications to keep her as healthy as possible . Her Facebook page , Twitter feeds and her more than half a million subscribers on her YouTube channel ( www . youtube . com / user / taliajoy18 ) keep her busy .
To read her tweets and posts , Talia seems like any normal , bubbly 13 year old girl . She is a talented artist and dancer , loves fashion and make-up , and dreamed of being a celebrity make-up artist . Talia does amazing makeup tutorial videos on her YouTube channel . Her videos are fun and informative , and she delivers her Vlogs with a “ get real attitude .” It is easy to get lost in her big beautiful brown eyes and contagious laughter .
Talia wants to help raise awareness for childhood cancer so when she is well enough to travel , her journey takes her from coast to coast . She has traveled from her home town of Orlando , Florida , to Hollywood , California and also to New York . In her quest to spread the word about curing childhood cancer , she has met with numerous celebrities , including her favorite television talk show host and comedienne , Ellen Degeneres . During an interview , Ellen asks Talia what keeps her positive . Talia shows her quick wit and spunk with her reply , “ Well , a little fishy told me to ‘ just keep swimming !’”
