Your Local Farmer ’ s Market

Produce from your Farmer ’ s Market is grown locally and most likely was picked within a few days of being taken to market . You won ’ t find that at your grocery store . Chances are that the produce there was imported from outside the United States . Additionally , food grown by your local farmers just plain tastes better ! You won ’ t find hydroponics or artificial growing conditions there , just home grown goodness !

Fresh Produce is Healthier Much of the fruit and vegetables found in your local supermarket were picked weeks before you take it home . With each passing day , the healthy nutrients normally found in produce degrade . When you purchase from a local farmer , the fruits and vegetables get to you within days , helping to ensure a fresh , nutrient packed product .

So get out to your local “ farmacy ” & enjoy all of the yummy freshness !

Organic ( or Nearly-Organic ) Produce Many local farmers grow their crops without unnecessary pesticide and herbicides , but cannot be classified as “ organic ” without going through a great deal of red tape . At a Farmer ’ s Market you can purchase healthy , fresh fruits and vegetables , often at a fraction of the price you would pay for similar foods labeled organic at your local supermarket .
