Who or what inspired you to want to become a NASCAR race car driver?

My dad raced after he competed in the Budweiser Rocket Car in 1979, he went 739.666 mph becoming the first man to break the speed of sound on the ground.  The rocket car was owned by legendary stuntman/film director Hal Needham.  Hal and my dad got together with Paul Newman and Burt Reynolds, and they decided my dad should race NASCAR. I never thought I would race though; I was into ski racing and motocross.  When I turned sixteen, I attended Buck Bakers Driving School with my brother, and we did well.  Buck said we should pursue racing, so I spent a few months that summer working and living with my dad’s close friend Richard Childress.  I worked in his shop painting cars, swiping floors and a few times spotting for Dale Earnhardt Sr.

How old were you when you first started as a Stuntman?

When I was fifteen, I filmed my first film. It was in Wilmington, the film was “Terror on Highway 99”, I doubled Ricky Schroeder.
